Source Kids is Australia’s first (and only) magazine for parents, carers and professionals of children with special needs. The glossy, national publication is printed quarterly and is distributed through five states of Australia (and growing!).
Source Kids’ vision is to deliver reliable, relevant and up-to-date information in a vibrant and positive manner.
Source Kids was founded four years ago by special needs parent Emma Price, who was frustrated by her own experiences trying to find products and services for her daughter Charlotte, who has Angelman Syndrome. As someone who was well-versed in finding information online and through social media, she knew that if she was finding it a challenge then so were many other parents out there.
Emma saw a niche in the market to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for parents, carers and professionals of children with special needs to go to and access information to help them navigate their way through the ever-growing and changing disability world.
Parents and carers in particular are time-poor, exhausted and don’t have the time nor energy to trawl through online and social media channels to find information. This is becomming increasingly important as the rollout of the NDIS will untimately have a postiive impact on the lives of children with disability.
Source Kids was created to fill this gap. It is a resource that has been created by parents, for parents and offers one ‘source’ of information that is relevant, reliable and up-to-date, whilst also being vibrant and positive.
