In this product spotlight, we learn more about the Leckey BeMe from Sunrise Medical.
The Leckey BeMe is a revolutionary, highly configurable modular postural support system which can be tailored to provide individualised posture, function and comfort for every child, regardless of their need or complexity.
The BeMe promotes inclusivity in day-to-day activities and also encourages confidence and independence, allowing children to participate for longer and with enhanced ability – letting a child’s beaming smile to shine through.
At the heart of BeMe is the range of interchangeable parts including a variety of seat and back supports which can be mixed and matched to suit the client needs – and swapped out as the child changes or grows. Add to this an array of postural supports and you have a truly functional and adaptable postural system.
Each component is available in different sizes making it suitable for children as young as 2 or 3, all the way through their teenage years. We know that children grow and change so rapidly , and this allows their postural support system to grow with them. The seating system is compatible on a variety of indoor and outdoor mobility bases, including the Quickie IRIS and the Z500 Mini Power wheelchair, providing a new level of mobility and personalised support without compromise.
While the Leckey BeMe was designed for changing and evolving children with GMFCS III-V, the designers also considered parents’ needs. It comes with bright coloured covers that are incontinent-resistant and easy to wash.
